27 Weeks & Growing

Today marks week 27 of my pregnancy. According to the various newsletters I receive the babies are about 2 pounds each. They are starting to mature and look more like they will when they are born. The next few weeks will have them fattening up a bit. I've noticed that they are moving around more, too, although not at the same time. Frank has been able to feel them move, especially after dinner. During the day, I find that they move at various times. If I cross my legs shortly after I eat, that usually gets the girl to start kicking more. It's as if she is saying, "hey, it's already crowded in here. Don't sit like that!"

Over the last week, my appetite has increased. I find myself eating about every two hours now. I've been eating quite healthy and haven't had any specific cravings. I'm still walking about 2 miles a day at this point, although not quite at the pace I was about 3 months ago.

We have our 27 week ultrasound on Monday. 27 weeks!

Just to enjoy a little flashback, here is their first photo - from 10/10/12 - when they were only 3 days old.

23 week ultrasound

Since we had the big ultrasound during week 19, where they confirmed that all fingers, toes and other important parts were there, the week 23 ultrasound was much less stressful. They always measure the baby's heart rate, estimate their weight and length, and ensure that we're still seeing the development across their bodies.

Baby A is the girl. She sits the lowest in my uterus. Last time we saw her in the photos her head was near my rib cage and her feet were down below. She is a little less active than her brother.

Baby B is the boy. He is above his sister. He is definitely more active, especially between 2 and 4 a.m. The last time we saw him on the ultrasound, his head was near his sisters. The two of them sort of take jabs at each other. I think they're just fighting for space. Right now, this is cute to see on the ultrasound. Ask me about it at week 35!

We're halfway there!

Well, we're more than halfway there, but it feels so great. After all this time, we're finally pregnant, and with twins. Here are a few photos from our baby-moon in Maui. I was 21 weeks during this time.
